How To Enter

Music Entry Notes

    1. Our Accompanists are professional, experienced pianists, who have supported this Festival for many years. We do not charge our entrants an additional fee for the excellent services they provide.

    2. If you require an Official Accompanist, please select the relevant answer to the additional question online, “Will the Official Accompanist be required”. You can use your own accompanist but be sure to see Rule 7. You are strongly advised to use the Official Accompanist if you are making multiple entries. We cannot adjust the order of playing to avoid clashes for your own accompanist.

    3. The Official Accompanists reserve the right to refuse to play from unsatisfactorily prepared music.

    4. Be sure to name the instrument when entering instrumental Own Choice classes. Changes cannot be made after the closing date.

    5. In Choir, Choral Groups and ensemble classes please indicate, by separate communication, to Anne Webb those entrants who are also involved in solo classes and the solo class numbers.

    6. Please enter the number of participants in all choirs, choral groups, orchestras and ensembles on the online entry system. Changes to the entry detail can be made up until the closing date but if the participant numbers change after the closing date, then please let the coordinator know

    7. The use of backing tracks is allowed in a select number of classes. When backing tracks are used the performer are advised to check the sound level is correct for their performance.

Speech & Drama Entry Notes

    1. Please note all of the Light Verse, Verse Speaking, Prose Speaking, and the Shakespearean Selection classes are 'solo' entries, unless otherwise stated.

    2. To keep classes to manageable numbers of large classes will be divided, and additional trophies awarded where necessary.

    3. If an Own Choice piece contains ‘adult language’ or unsuitable content for a young audience, please indicate this on the online entry and communicate with Anne Webb by email (annewebb@acousticnations.com).  We must advise that this could present difficulties for the festival to accommodate.

    4. Hand your Own Choice copy to the Adjudicator’s Steward at point of performance. This will not be returned.

    5. In Set Piece classes the Co-ordinator will provide the Adjudicator’s copy.

    6. All individual names must be provided for group and duologue entries. The entry requirements for groups and duos allow a wide age range to perform together. We advise groups and duos to enter the class which is for performers no older than the eldest participant. In cases of illness, substitutions may be made and must be declared at the time of the performance, in which case adjudications will be given but unfortunately performers cannot win or be placed.

    7. If a backing track is being used, the means to play it must be provided by the performer. If you have technical difficulties with the equipment, you may have to perform without the backing track. This will not affect your mark. You will be given 2 minutes to set up your equipment and check sound level, before the performance

    8. Please comply with copyright details in particular respect of duologue and drama groups.

    9. Changes to the entry detail can be made online up until the closing date.

    11. Please direct your queries to Anne Webb (annewebb@acousticnations.com), if you are unable to get the answers from the LMDF website or online entry system.

Please ensure that all relevant rules are adhered to.If rules are not adhered to the performers will risk losing the chance of winning and being placed.
